What could be more gorgeous than a lush peony and just how lovely are they in deep rich tones. After a summer of pale pastels and bright blooms, these plum and ruby paper flowers are hitting the spot for me. I have designed and shared a few different versions of peonies in the past, using crepe paper, a printed watercolor paper version and even cupcake wrapper peonies. This is a fresh new peony pattern using my favorite of all favorite papers. . . text weight metallic paper in ruby, mars, botanic, and super gold. For the mars paper I laser printed a plum watercolor wash on both sides before cutting the petals. This gave the bloom even more dimension. You can find the download for this below. Remember, print on the metallic paper with a laser printer. You can go to your local office supply store for this service. I cut my pattern with my cutting machine, making assembly quite quick and easy. You can find the SVG cut file below or if you would like to make these completely by hand you will also see the PDF template below as well. Something for everyone, right? You will find the step-by-step tutorial at the end of the post so give these simple yet lush blooms a try. They make such a beautiful bouquet, gift topper or wreath. Stay tuned for more brand new paper flowers coming this fall. Cheers! ~ Lia
