Sometimes when we are decorating a small room we are tempted to keep the art we place on the wall small as well. While this seems to make sense based on the properties of scale, what it actually does is cause the eye to stop many times, thus making the room appear even smaller. Creating one large piece of wall art makes much more of an impact with a cleaner look! And of course then you get to avoid that nasty “sprinkle syndrome” where you have many unrelated things sprinkled about a room… And who wants that? :) Here are some great DIY wall art ideas that will make a style splash in any room, large or small!
DIY Pallet Wall Art
Love this project using a wood pallet from ‘Love of Family & Home’.
Papered Walls? No, Not What You Think!
Oar This?
This headboard made from “oars” (from ‘Bees Knees Bungalow’), could be made into wall art for any room!
Shoe Polish Wall Art (Yes, really!)
Alisa Burke shows us how to make this wonderful masterpiece!
Giant B&W Photo Prints (For Cheap!)
You can get giant prints called “engineer prints” or “blueprint copies” very inexpensively at places like Staples and Kinkos. ‘A beautiful Mess‘ tells more about this.
Having a small room does not mean you shouldn’t have wall art that makes an impact…in fact, it’s a pretty good reason to make sure that you do! Which DIY wall art project are you dying to try?
