A Welcoming Dental Office

A Welcoming Dental Office

One of the benefits of having the retail store is getting to know clients over time. One of our regular customers contacted us about a year ago to say she was building a dental office from the ground up and wanted to use our design services.

Sometimes ‘commercial’ work can be less than exciting, but her goal was to make this office feel like a home, and a place she wanted to go to everyday. I was on board with that idea, so off we went!

Lobby:

We selected millwork (wainscot, plank ceiling, beams), stone fireplace and original art to make the lobby area feel welcoming. Her last office was painted a yellow/gold and she said she was so tired of it, she just wanted something light and cool. She also gravitated to a Rough Luxe look, so we mixed in a lot of metal, wood and stone.

Kids’ play space in lobby with hidden bookcase in tree, honeycomb desk and gaming system. This was all custom created for this new office.

Check in/out area. Isn’t it the most calming dental office you have ever seen? Toys for the kids are in baskets under the bench.

Hallway- the flooring throughout is wood look tile for longevity. The walls have stone applied. The halls have metal sconces which are very rustic. They have an acid washed finish and the ‘crystals’ look like white stones.

Operatory: Each client area is light, bright and comfortable with all the latest technology, but also a personal touch with decorative mirrors.

Employee Breakroom: The employee breakroom was designed to seat up to 12 at a time. We have a steel table and two bench seats in Sunbrella fabric, as well as dining chairs in leather.

The new office has 3 bathrooms, each with unique paint, mirrors, lights and tile work. There are a lot of city requirements for commercial baths, but that does not mean they can not look good. We tried our best to find choices that met the requirements but also looked special.

If you live in the Austin area and need a dentist that you will feel comfortable going to, be sure to let me know and I will give you our client’s details. They not only have a lovely office, they are also a lovely team with which to work!
