Thrift Shop Up-cycles with Fusion Mineral Paint & Doily Stencils

Thrift Shop Up-cycles with Fusion Mineral Paint & Doily Stencils
I purchased this vintage ice cream chair at the thrift shop for $10 recently,

And this little wooden stool for $5.

Both were cleaned up and painted with two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in Algonquin. I like Fusion Mineral Paint because there is no prep and no need for a wax or sealer topcoat.

After the second coat of Algonquin, I stenciled the chair seat and the top of the stool with the Decoart Mandala stencil and Fusion Mineral Paint in Champlain. No distressing this project! The doilies dress up both pieces and add a little elegance.

If you don't want to use the ice cream chair as a desk or accent chair, you can always add place a plant on the doily.

Sometimes my thrift shop purchases need a little fixing. A couple screws reinforced a cracked area of the wood. I think the repairs add to it's upcycled charm.
