HOW TO REMOVE PAINT FROM CARPET

HOW TO REMOVE PAINT FROM CARPET

After we finished painting our dining room, I folded up the big sheet of plastic we’d laid down and stored it for our next project. When we re-did our coffee table, I whipped the plastic back out and spread it out on the carpet. Little did I know some un-dried paint had been folded up inside, and it was still wet, leaving a yucky spot on our carpet. Panic! A renter’s nightmare.

Here’s how to Ctrl+Z, should you ever find yourself in this dilemma:

  1. Scrape any loose paint flakes off with a butter knife.
  2. Dab stain with nail polish remover.
  3. Rinse carpet area with cool water.
  4. Allow to dry.
  5. Vacuum.

Bam! Our stain is gone. That wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. I hope this never happens to you! File it away in the recesses of your brain/pinterest boards.
