After we finished painting our dining room, I folded up the big sheet of plastic we’d laid down and stored it for our next project. When we re-did our coffee table, I whipped the plastic back out and spread it out on the carpet. Little did I know some un-dried paint had been folded up inside, and it was still wet, leaving a yucky spot on our carpet. Panic! A renter’s nightmare.
- Scrape any loose paint flakes off with a butter knife.
- Dab stain with nail polish remover.
- Rinse carpet area with cool water.
- Allow to dry.
- Vacuum.
Bam! Our stain is gone. That wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. I hope this never happens to you! File it away in the recesses of your brain/pinterest boards.
