Fingerprint Snowman Salt Dough Christmas Ornament

Fingerprint Snowman Salt Dough Christmas Ornament

I am all about making cheap homemade Christmas gifts as well as making memories/keepsakes. This fingerprint snowman salt dough ornament is a great idea to make with your kiddos! Whether they are 1 years old or a teenager, this is a fun activity for the family! One batch of this dough makes about 4 ornaments.

Salt Dough Ornament Ingredients:

  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Parchment paper or aluminium foil
  • Straw/pen for punching a hole

Mix up all the ingredients and knead it so it gets firm. Roll the dough out and cut it in a circle using the brim of a glass. Have the kids press their finger in the dough in three spots making a snowman shape. Use a straw or pen cap to make a hole at the top.

Bake the ornament on tin foil or parchment paper at 200 degrees for 2-3 hours. Once it’s cool, paint around the fingerprints with blue paint and fill in the imprints with white acrylic paint. Add details with paint and finish off the ornament with a pretty ribbon.

We also made a fingerprint gingerbread man ornament!
