The laundry room is probably one of the most unorganized rooms in the house. It’s probably the least decorated as well. So, I have decided to focus my organizing efforts on the laundry. But, instead of actually doing any organizing, I spent my day creating a stencil to make this cute laundry sign! If you have a Cricut or Silhouette or other electronic cutter, you can make one, too!
Here’s what you need:
– Wood Strips
– Vinyl for stencil
– Paint
– Pennies (optional)
– Electronic cutter (cricut explore, silhouette or other cutter)
– Wood Glue
– Cut File (I used this one)
Here is what you do:
I found these pieces of wood from Home Depot. They come as strips that are about 1.5″ x 4′ and are around .50. They are a little rough, lightweight and perfect for a distressed sign. Cut 5 strips to about 16″ and 2 strips almost 8″.
Paint the sign the color of your choice. While that is drying, use your electronic cutter to cut out a stencil. Weed away the excess vinyl and use transfer tape to apply your design to the wood. Paint over the stencil, you can see how I use vinyl stencils in this tutorial. After the paint has dried, remove the vinyl stencil and sand lightly.
